Although we hear the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke once every three years in the liturgical cycle of Sunday Mass readings, we hear the Gospel of John every year – during the Christmas and Easter Seasons, the climax of Lent, and other Solemnities and Feasts.
This Lenten Study Day seeks to explore what makes the Gospel of John so special and unique. We will consider the struture and content of this mystical gospel, what it has in common with the other gospels, and what is unique.
In preparation for Holy Week and Easter we will examine St John’s rich theology concerning the Sacrement of Baptism and the graces received in this great sacrament of salvation.
In this Year of the Word, the Academy of the Annunciation invites you to come and discover the richness of God’s revelation in the Gospel of St John.
And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
On this study day, we follow in the footsteps of the early Christians, studying and praying together. There is also the opportunity to attend (via Live TV) Mass at 12.15pm.
When you have registered for the study day you will be sent the necessary links to join each session.
